impossible to sync iphone (icloud) music with mac (itunes) music; tried everything

Hi. The music on my mac mini won't sync with iphone, ipad, etc. Yes, I do have the 2 apple id problem -- the original I used with iTunes and my icloud id and I've tried everything, all the instructions on Apple and I called Apple "Support" (they only looked up the same online instructions could not help me).

Happy to share screenshots, answer questions, from anybody out there in the know.

Very, very frustrated. Help!!

If you don't have a subscription see: Sync your iPhone, iPad or iPod using your computer – Apple Support (AU)

If you do have a subscription, on your phone go to Settings > [Your Name] > Media and Purchases, sign out and sign in with the correct Apple ID.

Once you're logged into Media and Purchases with the correct Apple ID on your iPhone, go to Settings > Music and make sure Sync Library is enabled.

Thanks Picas. :) I had tried logging out and logging in with both the Apple ID and the iCloud ID. To no avail. The former is what I used for iTunes and the Store and the latter for iCloud on all devices including Mac. Previously, I was able to sync the phone and mac music with a cable and iTunes. Since then, not. Mail, folders, etc. all do sync via iCloud. (And yes I do have subscription.)

I guess "correct" is a relative term. I just tried again exactly as you described using each set of Apple IDs (icloud and Apple ID) and neither made any difference. I plan to lug my Mini into an Apple store for a Genius appt to see if they can figure it out. I can't be the only one on the planet with this problem and I'm computer literate. Stumped. Thanks for trying to help.
