New issue with Pages and Numbers stating that I am "offline" and can't collaborate

I have never had this issue until earlier this week, but whenever I open a Pages document or Numbers spreadsheet (which I use several times daily), I am now getting a pop-up alert stating that I am offline and "can't collaborate." Why is this happening without any changed settings and an active internet connection? How do I fix it? I appreciate your help.

That message is pretty clear.

The version of Pages necessary for collaboration is fluid with new updates and you are not meeting the current collaboration requirements with your versions of Pages, Numbers, or your version of macOS. Pages for iCloud/Numbers for iCloud is not tied to hardware or operating system version, so it will remain current as new versions of Pages or Numbers are introduced.

If you wish to continue Pages and Numbers collaboration, you will need to meet the preceding requirements, or instead of that form of collaboration, share documents by another means (e.g. Box, etc.).

I appreciate your response but not the initial comment about the message being pretty clear--since I do not find it to be easily understood.

Are you stating that my computer is now unable to download/run the latest version of these apps making them no longer able to perform as they have in the past? Need to purchase a new Macbook given that there are no updates available?

The requirements for collaboration by all those wishing to collaborate are stated in the current collaboration requirements link that I provided earlier. Not meeting those requirements or hardware inability to upgrade to the operating system minimum to meet those requirements and the collaboration process is over until you do. These requirements are still applicable to the Box sharing model too - Use Pages, Numbers, and Keynote with Box - Apple Support.

I consider myself relatively tech savvy and pretty intelligent, but this is apparently over my head. I have changed no settings on my computer or documents/spreadsheets and corresponding apps, and other than the fact that my computer model is not supported to upgrade to Ventura, I do not understand why my documents are no longer able to sync to my other devices. I do not use the collaboration feature, but I do like to access my documents on my phone when necessary making the sync feature important. Are you saying that this error notification/alert is now happening because I am not able to update the apps accordingly, or can I change some setting so that my documents will resume syncing to iCloud as they have done flawlessly up until a few weeks ago. If nothing else, how do I turn the alert off so that I do not get it every time?

FYI, I have never heard of "Box" until I started researching why this is happening all of a sudden.
