How do I permanently remove the iMessage app from a MacBook Pro computer?

I recently bought an iPhone, and logged into my Apple ID on the iPhone. Now I am CONSTANTLY receiving notifications from iMessage, on my COMPUTER, about text messages on my PHONE. This is extremely annoying and I want it to stop. I have disabled all iMessage notifications in the desktop application, and I have disabled all Messages notifications on the iPhone. But still, the Messages app keeps popping up and bothering me, even when I have no text messages on my phone. This is crippling my ability to get work done and focus, and I can't believe a phone that costs over $1,000 would cause such a painful annoyance, with absolutely nothing I can do about it.

I tried opening a terminal, logging in as the superuser, and running "rm -fr /System/Applications/Messages.app" but this failed. I have no way to remove this annoying, garbage application from my system, and no way to stop these abhorrent, stupid annoying notifications from popping up every 3 minutes.

Please, help me figure out how I can permanently remove Messages.app from my Apple computer so it will stop with these incessant popup notifications about text messages I am receiving on my iPhone. If I can't solve this I am going to return the iPhone because this is such a stupid, annoying problem.
