Can I locate my friends iPhone with just his phone number

Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. Using only the phone number to locate a lost iPhone is unavailable. If you and your girlfriend are in the same Family Sharing group, you can attempt to locate the iPhone in Find My. Here's how:
Find your Apple device or AirTag
1. Open Find My.
2. Choose Devices or Items.
3. Select your lost device or item to find it on a map. If you belong to a Family Sharing group, you can also find your family members' devices or shared items.
* Choose Directions to open its location in Maps.
* If you're close, tap Play Sound.
* If your iPhone has Ultra Wideband, you might be able to tap Find Nearby to show the distance and direction to your AirTag or AirPods Pro (2nd generation).

If you don't have an Apple device to use Find My, find your devices at iCloud.com/find.
