What text do I type to get a "wrong" or "cross mark" symbol?

I can find the correct text to generate this symbol on an iphone (see X below). The symbol exists in the iphone emoji menu, so I can get to it. I just can't find the correct text that pulls it up, as a shortcut.


It's basically the opposite of a green checkmark (for which one shortcut is typing 'done').


I know it's not any of the these:

  1. Wrong
  2. Mark
  3. Cross
  4. Cross Mark
  5. Incorrect
  6. Undone
  7. Unfinished


Let me know if you have ideas.

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities. You can set up any word or phrase of your choosing to generate this emoji by adding a text replacement. Try the following from Save keystrokes with text replacements on iPhone - Apple Support.


"Create a text replacement

  1. While typing in a text field, touch and hold the Next Keyboard, Emoji key or the Switch Keyboard key.
  2. Tap Keyboard Settings, then tap Text Replacement.
  3. Tap the Add button at the top right.
  4. Type a phrase in the Phrase field and the text shortcut you want to use for it in the Shortcut field."
