You can use any email address to create a new Apple ID. It can be a hotmail address.

As to your music, unless it was purchased from iTunes, you won't be able to access it even if you do figure out what Apple ID you were using on the iPad Mini, or you were subscribed to the Apple music subscription service and it got uploaded from a computer at some point.

For music synced from a computer, you would need to sync it again form that computer onto the iPhone.

Also, you should make sure if this is a second hand iPhone that their Apple Id has been entirely removed from the iPhone, and it has been completely erased. You should set it p from scratch as if it were just taken out of the box for the first time.

I do not have a current iTunes account. At the time I created one, (and purchased many songs), I had a hand-me-down Apple minipad and an android phone. Now that I have an iPhone with my own Apple ID, I would like to get the music off my mini pad but it no longer works. So based on your reply, I'm thinking I need to track down the Apple ID from my old minipad, which must belong to the person who gave the mini pad to me. I was thinking I use my Hotmail email to create my own iTunes account, but maybe not. I would at least like to try, so I might follow your instructions as long as I would be able to sign back in with my current Apple ID to restore anything I might've messed up. Is it worth a try do you think? Thank you so much for your assistance!
