Apple Watch Ultra Weather App Location Information Not Displaying

The weather app on my Ultra will not display any weather information from my default location based on where I am at. When I power cycle my watch the information will show up for a short time but then the information disappears again and does not return on its own. I have tried power cycling my iPhone 14 Pro Max and Apple Watch Ultra many many times and the same thing happens, the information will display for a short period of time on the watch then it disappears. I have location services enabled on both devices and I have my watch set to mirror my iPhone. The weather information on my iPhone is showing for where I am located correctly. Phone and watch have not been subjected to any damage and I have erased my watch and repaired it. This only started after the latest watch update.

What worked for me:

  1. Turned on locations services for the Weather App on the watch via Settings->Privacy Settings
  2. On my iPhone, went to Settings->Privacy & Security->Location Services & found the Weather app & changed Allow Locations Services to Always
  3. Powered off the watch
  4. Powered off the iPhone & then restarted it
  5. Powered on the watch

The order of 3-5 seemed to matter. Powering each off & then immediately on again did not work.

Hope this helps!

Hi kboo74,

If this is getting solved by a restart, try opening the app on your Apple Watch and see if the weather loads there.

Make sure you have background refresh on for the Weather app as well.

Go to the Watch app, My Watch > General > Background App Refresh > Weather.

If you continue to have trouble with the complication after the Weather app has loaded, use this link to reach us directly: Get Support
