Is data used when I’m listening to downloaded podcasts

I have I free Gb but was charged for 5. All i did was listen to podcasts. Is that an error on their part?

iPhone 7, iOS 15

If the podcasts have actually been downloaded, they should not use additional data (beyond what it took to download them) while you're listening to them. You can test this by putting the phone in Airplane mode and seeing if they still play.


You can see what is using your cellular data by going to Settings>Cellular and scrolling down. Note that this information does not reset on its own. You will need to reset it yourself on your billing date by going all the way to the bottom and selecting Reset Statistics.
