How do you format Image Capture file names to progress numerically?

Problem: When scanning images to a folder, Image Capture saves them as scan.jpg > scan 1.jpg > scan 2.jpg. And, after scanning many images, the first scanned file is always at the bottom of the Finder list (necessitating that I go back and rename "scan.jpg" to scan 0.jpg to have it appear before scan 1.jpg).

Desired Result: scan001.jpg > scan002.jpg > scan003.jpg.

I also use VueScan software for different scans. The (optional) format for this software is scan0001+.jpg and results in files automatically named scan0001.jpg > scan0002.jpg scan0003.jpg.

How do we get Image Capture to work similarly?

you can reverse the sort order of any folder by clicking any of the column header(s)

I see nothing at the plist level to make a defaults change...per your request.

from the Terminal.app copy and paste:

defaults read com.apple.Image_Capture.plist
