how do I create custom ringtones with an Iphone 8

All of my friends told me to download garage band but it requires iOS 17 or higher and by phone can only go up to iOS 16.7.1 I don't know what to do

Hi rr28,

I've got an iphone 8 with 16.7.1 too. I'm pretty sure there's a way to manage it without garage band. Maybe even two ways, I've done some research and as soon as I can give you a solid answer I'll let you know. Do you also have a mac computer? If so, can you give model and OS? It might matter, I'm not sure.
