automatic log in isn't working
even though I've just set it up, firevault is off. etc. This is after a session with Apple to reset my computer password and we had to get into safestart mode.

As a test to help narrow it down...
To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...
Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.
Does it work in the new account?

When you reset your password, did you also change it in the Automatic log in setting?
If it does work in the new account then I'd suspect this file is corrupt or locked...

Great to hear my friend, take care! :)
Ok So after our last conversation, I'd logged out, and since your answers have come in I decided to see if I had to sign in again, and I did NOT, so I guess making sure the setting was proper has worked after all. Not sure what the problem was before, I was sure I'd set it properly, but all's well that ends well.
Thank you everyone for your help and support!
That's a good idea. What if it does work? What if it doesn't?
thank you!
And also, it was working before Apple helped me with my password. In fact we had to use Apple ID as a work around just to get in as I messed up all my passwords.
thx
