How to stop iPhone from typing everything it hears

I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Never had a problem with it until I installed the Alex app to get my new echo buds installed.

Now my phone is typing everything it hears. I have gone to Settings > Accessibly > Spoken Content, and turned off everything. Yet my phone continues to type on it’s own.

Hi Perplexed-Jim,

If the app is running in the background, you can try turning off Background App Refresh in Settings > General > Background App Refresh > [App]. Learn more here Switch apps on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

You can also see what privacy settings the app has on by following Change your privacy settings on Apple devices.

If it continues to happen, as this is a third-party app, contact the developer for further assistance How to contact an app developer.

Take care.
