MacBook Pro Booting Issue

I am seeking assistance with an issue I encountered while attempting to sell my MacBook Pro 2018. In order to perform a clean install of the Big Sur operating system, I deleted the volumes \"Macintosh HD\" and \"Macintosh HD - Data\" from my drive. To proceed with the installation, I created a bootable USB drive using a separate computer. However, when I try to use the USB drive to reinstall the OS on my MacBook, I am immediately greeted with a crossed out folder icon. Additionally, Internet Recovery mode fails to work and displays an error message (-2008F). I have attempted using the CMD-R command, but instead of entering recovery mode, it initiates an internet recovery process which ends in failure as before. When I connect the bootable drive and hold the option key, I am able to access the bootable drive selection screen. However, upon clicking the arrow to launch from the USB, it redirects me back to the internet recovery mode. I have also tried the CMD-Option-P-R command, and reset the System Management Controller (SMC) but it has not resolved the issue. I would greatly appreciate any tips or suggestions that I may not have yet attempted.

Hi,

I think you did option+command+r as well, though if you haven't it yet, try it if you could enter Recovery Mode.

If it doesn't help, try to take your MacBook Pro to your local retail AppleStore, Genius Bar or Apple Authorized Service Provider to install macOS on your MacBook Pro there. As far as I know, it's free.
