Preview only displays parts of certain PNG files

When opening PNG files in preview to check them, some of my files will either load as a completely blank screen, or just partial image will appear. For reference, I'm creating alphabets, so as I'm checking them, I may have 23/26 display correctly, but the other three have the above issue. It's not a problem with the file as I can open it in any other program and it displays correctly. Not sure how I can fix this?

I have the same problem. I see it for both PNG and JPG files, but only when I'm trying to open the file stored on my Linux fileserver using Preview. If I copy the file from the fileserver to a local drive, it works fine.

Preview is my default app for both PNG and JPG files, and this happens regardless of whether I double-click on the file or right click --> Open With --> Preview.

I only see this with Preview. If I right-click a fileserver-stored image file and open with Photoshop, it works fine.

And if I display the files on the fileserver in a Finder gallery view it also works fine showing thumbnails of the images.

Summary of what I've found:

Fileserver image file: Finder --> Open With --> Preview: FAILS

Local image file: Finder --> Open With --> Preview: SUCCEEDS

Fileserver image file: Finder --> Open With --> Photoshop: SUCCEEDS

Local image file: Finder --> Open With --> Photoshop: SUCCEEDS

I've attached a screenshot showing what the same file looks like in Preview opened on the fileserver vs copying locally.

I'm using a 2021 M1 Macbook Pro 14" with MacOS Sonoma 14.0 (23A344).
