None of your suggestions solves the problem which I realize may be more of a Safari problem than a phone problem. I went into Settings and changed my default browser to Chrome. That solved the problem.

Hi,
have the same and tried all the suggestions: restart, update software, open mails in Chrome, … nothing works. I keep getting the error message that links cannot be opened, either from browsers and also in different apps. Could you please advise?

If on Wi-Fi, try cellular.
If on cellular, try Wi-Fi.
If Wi-Fi connection seems fine, but without working internet, then try restarting the router or access point as well, or try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network.
I was having problems & couldn't solve in Safari; downloaded Chrome & made Chrome default browser: Problem Solved (for me). as recommended by madoneg last October.
I’ve tried all suggestions and still nothing changes. This makes the upgraded iPhone less effective than my old phone.
