iMessage catch up feature for group texts

Since I installed iOS 17, the new “catch up” feature in group texts isn’t visible. I still have to scroll to find where I last read, with no arrow to jump me to that place. This is the case in a group text with all other iPhone users. Not sure if that matters or not.

I have turned messages off and on, as well as the phone itself. Thanks in advance for any help!
