iOS 17 update makes page turning pedal freeze. Help

Running an iPad 12.9 2018 model and have been using AirTurn and STOMP for 5 years on this iPad. I’ve refreshed Bluetooth connections, turned on and off the iPad and foot switches, reset software within pedal apps, and it didn’t fix the problem. When I turn on the pedal, it works as it should until I let it sit idle for about 6 seconds. Then the buttons on the pedal become completely unresponsive, until I do a finger swipe on the page. Then everything works perfectly until l let it sit idle for 6 seconds. I have also noticed that if I let the iPad stay on for 2 or 3 hours that the problem seems to resolve itself. I don’t have enough battery to make this feasible. I didn’t have this problem until I updated to iOS 17. Please help - I depend on this device to play live music. Thanks.

Let’s get something straight. Apple is NOT responsible to keep third party software/hardware working. There are tens of thousands of software/hardware packages out there and it would impossible to test every single one before releasing an update. No, it’s the developers and manufacturers responsibility to make sure their products work with Apple’s operating systems. Your beef is with AirTurn and STOMP. AirTurn have had over a year to prepare for iPadOS 17. They failed to do so and left you twisting in the wind. You could also have contacted them to confirm things work with iPadOS 17 before updating, especially if this is your income.

Try calling the developers of AirTurn and STOMP6 to see what they are doing about it. Try resetting your STOMP per instructions on YouTube. Try powering down your iPad and restarting. Turn Bluetooth off and then back on.

Any news on this? Did 17.1 fix the problem? It sounds vaguely like some sort of BTLE (*) power saving mode gone awry. The 3rd party manufacturers have a lot more clout to get Apple to fix software bugs than us poor users. I agree with @lkrupp, complain to the makers of AirTurn and STOMP. Please let us know if/when your problem got resolved. I’m looking to buy a page turner soon. I don’t want to buy an expensive brick.

(*) BTLE = Bluetooth Low Energy
