Apple Watch battery issue after update

Why is my Apple Watch’s battery go down so fast after the update? I used to charge every 4 days and now I have to charge it everyday. This started right after the new update.

The latest update with the bug fix regarding the battery issue is not helping at all, in fact, my watch battery now drains faster than ever before and I’m having to charge it every day and a half. I wish I could take back the last two updates…

Same issue. I have the Apple Watch 5 and just updated last night to iOS 10.0.1. This morning I had 74% battery and went for a 2-hour walk. The watch was dead by the end of the walk. This just started today. Yes tracking exercise is a significant drain on the battery, but I've never had it die after 2 hours of walking. Something seems off with this iOS update.

Hello juyoung81,

At maximum battery capacity the Apple Watch SE will be expected to get 18 hours of battery life. This page can help provide info: Apple Watch SE (2nd generation) - Technical Specifications

If the device is receiving considerably lower battery life than that, it may be helpful to try restarting both the Apple Watch and the iPhone it's paired to:

Same issue. Apple Watch 6. After this last update the watch can be on the charger and will not go past 70%. I removed it from the charger and without wearing it the charge dropped to 38% in about 30-40 minutes. Prior to update I could go all day of heavy use and only be down to about 75%. Something definitely wrong with this last update causing extreme battery drain. Even when not wearing it is getting hot.

From what I have learned if you have third party apps ie watch faces not offered by Apple itself you are better off to delete the app until the third party developer does updates to its apps. I had this issue so I deleted third party watch face apps off my phone and watch restarted both iPhone and iwatch and presto it’s fixed. Please know I spent a lot of time on phone with apples specialty department this solution came about when I asked about my third party app for custom watch faces this was back in September I have not had battery issues or overheating issues since the third party app was not compatible with current iOS so if nothing else try if if it doesn’t solve issue you have nothing lost since you can redownload those apps
