Hi there muusi,

Spatial Audio is available on Macs with Apple Silicon. More info on that here: Use or turn on Spatial Audio for AirPods and Beats - Apple Support

"Turn on Spatial Audio on your Mac with Apple silicon

  1. Make sure that you're wearing your AirPods Pro (1st or 2nd generation), AirPods Max, AirPods (3rd generation), Beats Fit Pro, or Beats Studio Pro, and that they're connected to your Mac.
  2. Click the AirPods or Beats icon in the menu bar to see Spatial Audio listed while you’re playing multichannel content, or Spatialize Stereo while you’re playing two-channel stereo content.
  3. To turn on Spatial Audio and dynamic head tracking, click Head Tracked. To turn on Spatial Audio only, click Fixed. To turn off Spatial Audio and dynamic head tracking, click Off."

Please note that not all apps support spatial audio. Spotify, and Netflix may not support this feature. To reach out to them to check, or to request they do support Spatial Audio, follow: How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

We hope this helps.

Cheers!

Hi muusi,

Keep in mind that Spatial Audio isn't available for all apps and content. Make sure you've followed the guidance in these resources to turn on and control the feature:

You can isolate the behavior further by testing it in a new administrator account on your Mac. This will tell you if the issue is specific to one user account. If needed, this article will guide you through creating a new account to test with: Add a user or group on Mac

1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Users & Groups  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
2. Click the Add Account button below the list of users on the right (you may be asked to enter your password.)
3. Click the New Account pop-up menu, then choose Administrator.
4. Enter a full name for the new user. An account name is generated automatically. To use a different account name, enter it now—you can’t change it later.
5. Enter a password for the user, then enter it again to verify. Enter a password hint to help the user remember their password.
6. Click Create User.

Regards.
