CPU MCA Error Dump - MacBook Air 13"2018

My Mac Air recently just turned off without warning, and the fan spun extremely quickly for about a second before also going silent. I tried to run diagnostics using Option-D but it came up with nothing wrong. The Problem Report also seems to not have anything of use (at least that I can see). All it says is this:

CPU Machine Check Architecture Error Dump (CPU: UNKNOWN, CPUID: 0x806E9)

Core: 0

IA32_MC0_STATUS=0xF200000000030005

IA32_MC0_CTL=0x0

Core: 0

IA32_MC1_STATUS=0xFF80000000000114

IA32_MC1_CTL=0x0

IA32_MC1_ADDR=0x1CEA58C0

IA32_MC1_MISC=0x86

with no other information. Does anyone know what this means, or what might have caused the computer to shut off?

An older version of If your Mac restarted because of a problem contained the following excerpt:

"Note: If you find the term "machine check" in the "Problem Details and System Configuration" field of this report, it may indicate a hardware-related issue."

In the archived version of that document, you will find a number of comprehensive steps in the section titled "Additional Information". Some of them may be outdated or inapplicable to your model Mac, but follow as many of them as you can.

If your troubleshooting efforts fail have Apple evaluate that Mac for a possible hardware fault: Contact Support.
