Too much power in brick?

Can I use a 30watt brick to charge iPhone 15 or is that too much power? Verizon store said I shouldn’t use MacBook power cord to charge it. iPad brick is 20w. What is best?

iPhone 15, iOS 17

The iPhone won't draw more power than it was designed to. You can use the 30 watt power adapter and much larger ones. You can use the USB-C to USB-C cable from a Mac if you want.

To fast charge, you need an iPhone 15 model with a USB-C cable like the one that came in the box or an earlier iPhone model with a USB-C to Lightning cable and one of these adapters:

  • Apple 18W,* 20W, 29W, 30W, 35W, 61W, 67W, 87W, or 96W, or 140W USB-C Power Adapter
  • A comparable third-party USB-C power adapter that supports USB Power Delivery (USB-PD)

You can use Apple USB power adapters for iPad and Mac laptops to charge iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods, and other Apple products.
