Downloaded Sonoma and now I can't print on my HP printer

Downloaded Sonoma and NOW I CAN'T print on my HP printer because HP has not issued a driver that works.

Meanwhile, my iMac takes forever to boot up as I watch the Spinning Pinwheel of Doom. Sometimes it doesn't boot at all. And NOW I can't use Cocktail or my anti-virus program either?

I am seriously thinking about going back one version to Ventura. How difficult will that be?

Very difficult and not for amateurs. It requires a complete erasure of your Mac, reinstallation of macOS, and restoration of your data from a properly maintained backup.

Regarding your HP printer, try resetting the printing system and adding back your printer. This works most of the time.

Is strongly second Ikrupp's comments. I If you will bear with me, I will offer some things to consider. Whenever we install an operating system upgrade or some OS updates, printers and scanners will often stop working. Then a new OS compliant printer software must be installed. What you can do is to thoroughly check the printer web site for an updated driver that works with your new operating system. If one is not available, then we should ask when one will be released. If that doesn't work, if the Printer has the Air Print feature, that can be used and no driver will be needed. If not, then you can check the respected web site below where volunteers write free drivers for older printers which are no longer supported, but which work with newer operating systems. It is worth checking out. Good luck.
