Hi! Migration from iOS 16.1 to new iPhone 12 takes forever 😫

I restarted it twice that checked the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection, plugged both devices… but the same message “finish on new iPhone” keeps appearing even after 10 hours!

The length of time it takes to transfer data to your new phone varies with the amount of data and how the data is being transferred. 


Including your related article Use Quick Start to transfer data to a new iPhone or iPad, here are the three ways to transfer data to your new iPhone Transfer data from your previous iOS or iPadOS device to your new iPhone or iPad. Note:

  • If you are using Quick Start make sure both devices are close to each other and both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi is turned on. 
  • For Quick Start or iCloud transfers, make sure you are connected to a strong Wi-Fi connection. You cannot connect to a HotSpot for this. 
  • If it still doesn't seem to be working, 
    1. Set up the new phone without transferring data 
    2. Update both iPhones - Update your iPhone
    3. Erase the new iPhone and start the process over How to factory reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch 
  • If you have a computer, either Mac or PC, you can use it to transfer your data instead.
