Letters missing from the Russian keyboard
There are letters missing from the Russian alphabet on my keyboard, I’m trying to learn the Russian language and need the full alphabet in my lessons, what can I do?
iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 16

No, all the letters are there. Press and hold the е and Ь keys to see popup menus with extra letters ё and ъ. If you really do not see a letter you need, tell us what it is and we will tell you how to make it.

I don’t know if it has been changed, but I was thinking the hard sign was missing. Turns out, you just have to long press the soft sign and that will show the hard sign.
Yup, that's exactly what I said back in October.

Also the letter ё (found at press/hold е) which is part of the alphabet, but often apparently optional in text, though probably less so when learning.

In my experience such posts are always mistaken. Best to verify the report before sending them to feedback.

Depends what is the follow up here, she/he didn't reply yet, she/he's got an iPhone 12 Pro, is it the same iPhone of the correct keyboard? She/he's on a IOS 16 is the correct keyboard from IOS 16? Lots of variables but yes sure best check first
Tom's response clued me as to what the problem might be. There are two orthographic signs in Russian. On the keyboard, they are on the same key as one of them isn't used very much anymore.
I used the Russian keyboard while running iOS 16. There were no letters missing.

As I recall (it's been many years since first-year Russian), that is correct. I remember my professor implying that it was sort of an aid to children and foreigners at this point. In fact, I'd forgotten about it.
We didn't have personal computers (or even Russian typewriters) when I started studying. My Russian cursive used to be pretty good.
What letters do you think are missing? I use the Russian keyboard on my phone quite a bit and have never had an issue. Have you tried turning off the keyboard and turning it back on?
If you mean the hard sign, you get that by pressing and holding on the soft sign. Fortunately, since 1918, that isn't used nearly as much.

Probably as a Russian learner thought the keyboard was missing letters, we'll see when we get a reply
Yes, which is why we asked which letters they thought were missing. I think, however, we've probably covered the solution.
You'll find, as time goes on, people frequently don't respond. It's always nice when they do but not to be counted upon.
Yes I don't know Russian but out of curiosity I googled it and had a look at the photos of Russian keyboards which look exactly the same as the iphone's, fair enough I ignore maybe hidden characters showing if you long press keys or for real keyboard maybe in the Fx keys. Yes indeed I agree
