iTunes puts tracks in wrong order

A new album purchased via iTunes (I do not use Apple Music) shows up in my library, but the tracks are all in the wrong order (5,7,9,11) instead of (1,2,3,4).

There are earlier discussions of this issue but the solutions don't work -- "show view options" is greyed out in most cases -- but why on earth wouldn't iTunes just keep the tracks in their original order???

Downloading these albums, does this work?

I see you are using macOS 10.15. iTunes is not an option for macOS Catalina. Apple canned iTunes when macOS 10.15 Catalina was released. The Music app and TV app are what remains: What Happened to iTunes? - Apple Support
