my phone number isn’t working

It sounds like you want to send your text message from your phone number and not your email. We know how important this is for you, and you’re in the right place for answers.

Use your phone number to start conversations in Messages 

1. In the Settings app, tap Messages.

2. Tap Send & Receive. 

3. In the "Start new conversations from" options, tap the phone number that you want to use.

New messages now come from your phone number. If you have existing Messages conversations that you started with your email address and you want to use your phone number instead, you need to start a new conversation.
