where did scanner go ? HP MFP Printer is found but not scanner

Dear All,

I'm running Sonoma but I think I had this problem already in the last OS. I no longer have the scan option in the print/scan system setting. I would click on my printer and it would also offer me a scanner option. No more. I deleted and set it up a couple of times. It finds my HP Laserjet MFP M127fw through Bonjour and autoselects the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw-AirPrint driver (version 3.0) . I install it, icon looks like my printer but nowhere do I see a scan button or on the left a scanner subsection. I do see my printer as a printer and it works flawlessly.

It seems like it doesn't recognize that it also should add the device as a scanner. I click on add printer/scanner/fax and it only seems to find the printer.

Any suggestions?
