Cancelling Eharmony and Requesting Refund

Realized that I had a two year subsciption to Eharmony, not the 1 year I thought. I went to cancel auto renewal and discovered this. And found that I bought through iTunes. I'm surprised. Also surprised I would have paid $699 for a 2-year subscription which is much higher than the newsstand price! I had purchased through the Eharmony app on my phone. How it routed to iTunes I do'nt know. But this was in Dec 2022, about a year ago, and now there is no option to cancel renewal or request refund (for the second year) because apparantlyn the purchase is too old (10 months). Honestly, I used the eHarmony app for a few months and found it not very good for me, so did not use it much at all. Eharmony says I can't cancel or get a refund through them because I bought from iTunes. I called Apple and they said that I bought from Eharmony using my iPhone, so it looks like an Apple purchase, but it is not. I have a receipt in Apple that says it was 'in app' purchase, which appears to be an Apple transaction? That's from the highest level

Senior in the Subscriptions area. So, apparantl I can't cancel the autorenewal coming in 2024, and I also can't request a refund for the 2nd year, which I could really use. I don't believe I ever selected 2 years, which I've never done a thing like that in my life. Please help?

This is primarily a user-to-user support forum; other Apple users like you.

An "In-App" purchase is an Apple transaction.

The only thing that I can help with is to say that you should be able to cancel the auto-renewal now so that you won't be charged again in the future.

There is an Apple article that explains how to cancel subscriptions. Click on the following link: If you want to cancel a subscription from Apple - Apple Support

If the option to cancel a subscription is missing, see the following excerpt from Apple Support article If you want to cancel a subscription from Apple - Apple Support

You might need to scroll down to find the Cancel Subscription button. If there is no Cancel button or you see an expiration message in red text, the subscription is already canceled.

Also, a subscription that is already cancelled will typically have wording in fine print similar to "Expires on [date]" rather than "Renews on [date].”
