An AirTag that I don’t have or own says it is detected with me?

It says that it was last seen with me. But I don’t own or have an AirTag?

By default, your iPhone participates in the Apple's Find My Network. As such, if an Apple AirTag is within Bluetooth range (around 30') of your phone, you may get this alert.

You have two choices:

  1. You can continue to allow your iPhone to participate in this network, OR
  2. You can disable this feature. (Settings > Apple ID > Find My > Find My iPhone > Find My Network)

Note that if you do disable it, any AirTag that near you (think of someone trying to track you), you will not be notified. That would be a decision totally up to you to make ... and, in this case, you can make the AirTag make a sound so that you can locate it.

Participating in the Find My Network allows your iPhone to be able to relay an AirTag's location information to the Apple servers for those who use their AirTags for finding their lost item. All relayed data are encrypted and no information about your phone is sent to those servers.
