Cannot add Yahoo! account to send and receive emails after update to macOS Sonoma

On my mac studio >only< I cannot add a yahoo mail account and send and receive emails llke I used to be able to do. I have been trying for weeks and have tried all the suggestions in the support area, after the update to Sonoma. My iPhone and iPad air connect as expected.
