Smart mailbox "Today" is lacking some mail

My "today" mailbox (using Ventura) does not show a mail I received on my mac account an hour ago. The mail does appear in my inbox. It also appears in the "Today" box of an older computer running Catalina, with EXACTLY the same definition of Today (namely "Date received is today"), and exactly the same mail setup. The same problem occurs with "recent" and "Last Month". Earlier messages received on my mac account, as well as earlier and later messages from other accounts do appear.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I cannot check this, because the mailbox "Today" has of course changed. I made a new mailbox with the exact date 19-10-2023, and then I noticed that the same person had sent me a second mail two hours later, at 18:42. That mail DOES appear in the new smart mailbox, but the original one sent at 16:54 does not. I turned off "organize by conversation" to make sure the two are treated independently.

So I reproduced the problem in this new smart mailbox. Then I reindexed spotlight for the ~/Library/Mail folder only, and that did not fix the problem.
