Notes: Scanned Documents no OCR search

When I scan documents into Notes, it seems that they are being OCR'd since I can open the attachment and copy text, but when I search, they don't appear in the search results. If I just upload an image then it seems to be OCR'd and appear in searches. I was wondering if there was some way to get scans to show up in search, or if I'm somehow scanning incorrectly. Thanks!

Scan with notes then print When i scan a document with Apple Notes, it looks in notes like a scanned document, when I try to print it, it looks in the print preview on the screen like a photo not like the scanned document plus it adds a blank page (I belive the blank page is the note area around the scan), when it actually prints, it prints the photo including all the space around what I cropped in the scan document. Example: I scan a page in a book, cropping the area around the section I want to keep in the scan. When I go to print, it both shows in the print preview and actually prints the areas I cropped out and it looks like a color photo as opposed to how it looks in the note as a scan. Basically I want to scan a document then print it exactly how it looks scanned. Please help, thanks!

Scanning documents into Notes I scanned my paper mail into Evernote for years, and have recently made the switch to Apple Notes for this. But I'm still trying to come to grips with the way these scans can be added. I could use the 'Scan Documents' (iOS) or 'Insert from iPhone or iPad' (macOS) feature built into Notes, which yields a document where all pages are displayed in a side-by-side widget of sorts and text in scanned documents has become searchable. I could scan a document into a PDF file using a third-party application where I only see the first page of a PDF document and the text is not searchable. I prefer using the first approach, for obvious reasons. But it becomes very tedious, when scanning documents received by mail that contain many pages. For that, I would much rather use Image Capture and the automatic document feeder built into my printer/scanner device. I wish in macOS I could also choose 'Insert from scanner' and have it yield a side-by-side display of all scanned pages that have also become searchable. But that does not seem possible. What other options do I have in this situation?

Notes App not scanning as pdf I have just scanned a few documents using the Notes App but I have experienced 2 issues that I haven't been able to find an answer to. In the Notes App I have created a new Note, selected the camera, selected scan document and on all occasions the files have been saved as .jpegs instead of .pdfs. I want any scanned documents to be saved as a pdf - otherwise I would just take a photo if I wanted files saved as .jpeg. The other issue I'm finding confusing is how to save multiple pages as one .pdf. When I used the above procedure for a 2-page document and allowed the 2nd page to be scanned automatically, I expected it to be saved as a single 2-page .pdf file but it didn't - it saved as 2x separate .jpeg files. So, if someone could please tell me how to save scanned documents as .pdf by default and how to save multiple page documents as a single .pdf, I would appreciate it. Thank you
