Why are Screen Time requests being automatically approved?

Ever since the iOS 17 update I’ve started to receive Screen Time requests from my daughter via iMessage and the requests are being automatically approved.

Is there a way to fix this?

Hi dRuffolo,

We appreciate you reaching out to us.

We’d like to gather additional details that may help us be in a better position to assist you.

For accuracy, are you referring to the "Ask For More Time" requests?

If yes, do you have Messages in iCloud enabled?

Also, do you have multiple devices that are signed in to the same Apple ID?

In the meantime, let’s check for a software update and make sure that you are running the latest version of iOS 17.

While it isn't inherently assured that an update will resolve the issue, updating to the latest software version for your device can help isolate potential software issues.

Kindly secure a backup and update.

I see about changing the Screen Time password, however if the implication is that someone else is approving the requests that is not the case.

Below is what I eventually see in messages. When the request pops up I open messages and will see the three dots as if I am typing and then the example below will pop up.

I am not sure what you mean by having is set up the way I want.
