High Sierra macOS Reinstall Fails

iMac (21.5", Mid 2011) currently running only OS X Base System and as a new purchase of a used machine there is no backup available.

Clicking on continue at the High Sierra install page of macOS Reinstall results in message, "The recovery server could not be contacted." I think this is due to Apple closing or changing the link that the Reinstall is looking for.

The capabilities of the OS X Base System are VERY limited! How do I install High Sierra on a machine with the level of truncation that the Base System offers?

You need to read and follow the link below to the letter:

What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your Mac

If you cannot do this, please be prepared to return the used Mac you bought for a refund. Going forward, please only buy used or refurbished Macs from reliable sources such as Apple's refurbished store or a reputable site such as Macsales.com. NEVER EVER buy a used Mac from a private party, E-Bay, Craig's List, or other "online" sources.
