Troubleshooting Software Uninstalls:
A. Restart the Mac:
Shut down the Mac for 30 seconds, and then boot up login in normally. Having made such a change (removal of a device), sometimes things need to be reset.
B. Boot in Safe Mode:
In Safe Mode, Login Items do not run at login, certain preferences are set aside, and damaged system files are then reset. So, once booted in to Safe Mode, attempt another update install. For instructions, go here: How to Use Safe Mode on your Mac - Apple Support
C. Close All Apps:
Close all apps, and try this once more. Use Force Quit for this. See if this applications open. If that is the case, save what need be (if possible), and then Force Quit. Attempt this once more.
D. Ask the Manufacturer:
Contact the manufacture, asking them if they have any ideas for this.
