If I trade in my MacBook Pro, where will the credit go? To a gift card, or my credit card?

Scenario 1: I trade in my MacBook Pro with no accompanying purchase

Scenario 2: I trade in my MacBook Pro with a purchase that costs less than the value of the MacBook Pro (MBP = $1000, purchase < $1000). What will happen with the remainder of the money. Can I get the extra credited to my purchasing card?

if you were hoping to get cash in exchange you're going to want to search for a pawn shop or other site that will do that for you. Apple isn't about to give you cash to go potentially spend anywhere other than apple or on apple products .. caveat being that they'll refund your payment card the credit amount your device will be worth ... to be clear.

Scenario 1) gift card

scenario 2) technically depends on how you're paying but any amount beyond what you're buying will be to a gift card.

Cheers.
