I have noticed a weird looking vertical stripe near bin in my dock on macOS Sonoma 14.0. On the image, the one to the left is an old separator line and it looks fine, however the stripe on the right looks weird and ugly. What is it and how do I remove it?
P.S. Its not a general screen error, since it goes away with dock, when I hide it.

I had the same problem, and i believe it was a glitch with the Spotify app. I forced quit spotify and it went away!
Thanks, turns out it is a problem with Spotify app. After closing it the stripe is gone!

Any Third Party Applications that will interfere with the normal operation of the OS, is an invitation for disaster.
Certain Applications maybe available on the Apple Apps Store - this only means the Developer is prepared to pay Apple a portion on each sale.
What the Application may do to the computer is up to the User to check this out before purchase

If you change the Dock size, or move it to one of the sides, how does that line behave?
Can you manage to right/control click on the line? It seems to be a corrupt folder icon.
You should check to see if Spotify is up to date.
Does it have anything to do with the Normally Present but missing / hidden " Download " Folder Left of the Bin ( Trash )

In My image, the there is only 1 Solid Dark Vertical Line which resembles the Second Vertical Line in yours
In which case, the suggestion from @Luis S above would be a good starting point
"Show suggested and recent apps in Dock" is unchecked, and checking it has no effect on this weird stripe.
Adding the 'downloads' folder back to dock yields even weirder result. By the looks of it, the second line is clearly misaligned, almost 'touching' folder icon.
When changing the magnification effect, I've noticed that second stripe grows bigger when hovered over, while the separator stripe doesn't change size.
