MacMail Issue

I recently upgraded my MacbookAir to Sonoma. Since then, my gmail account shows up as another name on MacMail when I send emails to myself. My name is normal on my iPhone so it has to be my computer. Please advise.

Thank you kindly for your thoughtful response, too, Dshelden.

The Contacts app can be opened from the dock at the bottom of your screen.

The Mail app uses the information from Contacts app to populate the address fields.

Getting Mail Info Correct:

Use a New App Password:

Do you use an App Password? If so, try a new App Password. Sometimes, changes (i.e. updates) are made to the device, and then mail server syncing becomes an issue (which is what a new App Password it intended to fix). Go here for gmail: Sign in with App Passwords - Google Account Help - Goog

I really appreciate your response. I’m sorry I’m not very techy and I will try to figure out what you’re saying. Please don’t be angry if I don’t understand. I’m 72 and I just bought this new Mac and it makes me furious. I will look into understanding what you were saying. Thank you very much for your response
