Why does WatchOS 10 Reminders widget only offer "Today" list?

I appreciate having the option to add a Reminders widget to the Smart Stack, but the only list that can be added is the "Today" list. When I am at the grocery store, the most timely list would be my shopping list, but the Smart Stack doesn't offer an option to choose a different list. Instead, if I add the "Today" list widget, I can open the Smart Stack, tap on the "Today" list, it opens the Reminders app, and automatically switches to the "today" list. Then I have to tap back to the list of lists and tap on the shopping list. it would save a couple of taps if I could specify the shopping list as my preferred list in the widget. Does anyone know how to do this?

I know how to change the order of lists on my iPhone. But that does not seem to make a difference when adding a list to the Smart Stack on the Apple Watch. Only the “Today” list is an option for the Smart Stack reminders widget. There’s no way to choose a different list.

Hey Mark Hurty,

We can see how that feature would be beneficial to you, as you described. With that in mind, we want to recommend that you leave feedback for the developers of future watchOS updates. This is a way you can explain how this feature could be better and why it would be beneficial to you for these changes to the way Reminders works in the Smart Stack on your Apple Watch. You can leave feedback here: Product Feedback - Apple

There isn't a way to say if this feedback will definitely be incorporated in a future update, but we believe it's worth letting the developers at Apple know just the same.

Thank you for being a part of the community here. We hope this information helps!

Best wishes.

Hi Mark Hurty,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! To change the order of your lists, we would recommend the steps below that can help:

Set and respond to reminders on Apple Watch

To change the order of your lists, open the Reminders app on your iPhone, tap the More Options button, tap Edit Lists, then drag the list to a new location.

Hope this helps!

Have a great day.
