Hey akio208,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. You mention your iPhone screen is malfunctioning since updating to iOS 17.

Do yo have the latest version, iOS 17.0.3, installed? Since updates include bug fixes, we recommend keeping the software up-to-date. Prior to doing so, confirm you have a recent backup to ensure your data is safe.

The information below includes a link on how to back up along with the steps to update. You can also access the information here: Update your iPhone or iPad.

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

If issue continues, follow the troubleshooting steps below or here: If your screen isn't working.

1. Restart your iPhone or iPad.
2. Make sure that your screen is clean and free of any debris or water.
3. Disconnect any Lightning or USB-C accessories. If your screen works after removing an accessory, try using a different outlet, cable, or charger.
4. Remove any cases or screen protectors.
