To start with I have re-installed the app. ( logged in etc; to start afresh)
when I go to log in all appears normal. Then an error message pops up saying “ there is something wrong “
“please try again later” with a Go back button.
it then goes into search mode.
this has been going on for at least 4 days now. So I’m baffled as to what is going on.

To confirm, you followed the steps below to delete the app, correct? Customize the Apple TV Home Screen - Apple Support
1. Select the app you want to delete, then press and hold the clickpad center (Siri Remote 2nd generation or later) or touch surface (Siri Remote 1st generation).
2. Select Delete App, then select Delete or Offload.
3. Offloading an app removes it from the Home Screen to free up storage, but retains its data in case you install it again.
4. Deleting an app also deletes its data. You can download any app again that you’ve purchased on the App Store, free of charge, but the data may not be restored.
Afterwards, you followed the steps below to add the app: Download apps on your Apple TV.
1. Open the App Store app.
2. Browse or search for the app that you want to download.
3. Select the price or Get button. If you see the Open button instead of a price or the Get button, the app is already downloaded.
