What macOS do I need on my iMac 2011 to update my Photoshop CS5?

I want to buy new actions for my Photoshop CS5 but I cant because I don't have an updated version of my OS I believe. I have MacOS High Sierra for my 2011 iMac. I can't even upgrade my Google. Does it have to do with buying more space?

Note that one-time-purchase versions of Photoshop, such as CS5 and CS6, won’t install on current Macs and versions of macOS.

Adobe now makes Photoshop available only as a “subscription” (rental). The cheapest Photography Plan that includes access to Photoshop costs $10/month, and also includes access to Lightroom (cloud version) and Lightroom Classic.

As time goes on two things happen:

  1. At some point your Mac, being too old will no longer be able to install operating system upgrades.
  2. At some point, as new OS upgrades are released, the older operating systems will no longer be supported. That means that no updates will be issued for that OS.

If you cannot afford to replace your Mac you can still keep the installed apps updated to the latest version your Mac will accept. This is particularly important for browsers such as Firefox and Chrome.

You might look at upgrading to a refurbished Mac. That is one way to save money.

Your welcome. Also, if you cannot afford to pay cash, Apple does offer 12 months financing with no interest. So if you can afford to pay monthly for 12 months this may allow you to buy the machine you want. For information about this please refer to Apple Card - Monthly Installments - Apple

I often take this route often when buying Apple products. What I do, is as soon as I have the payment information (where to mail payments, account #, etc...) I set up 12 automatic payments with my bank so I ensure I never forget a payment.

Please remember if you are going to buy a refurbished Mac to ONLY purchase it directly from Apple or to buy a used Mac from a trusted source such as Macsales.com. NEVER EVER buy a "refurbished" Mac from a private party, EBay, Craigs List, NextDoor, FaceBook Marketplace, etc. these machines are not to be trusted and most are done by untrained and unskilled staff.
