my phone will not transfer my photo to my Mac Air

As mentioned above, you may want to include more detailed information about what exactly you're experiencing. What kind of noise are you hearing? What version of the macOS is currently on the Mac? Look here to determine what version is being used: Find out which macOS your Mac is using - Apple Support.

If you haven't already, check to see if a different cable works to connect your device to the Mac, and allows the transfer of your photos. If not, do you see an error message? If so, what does the error message say?

Do you have the Photos app open when you transfer the photos? If so, do you see the option to Import All New Photos? The more information you post, the quicker others in the Community can isolate the issue and offer solutions.
