Complications Updating Every 15 minutes Is Dangerous

One of the main reasons I bought an Apple Watch Ultra 2 is the ability to add my blood glucose level on the front screen as a complication. Unfortunately, I experienced a very low glucose incident and the complication was not reflecting this information because of this 15 minute update rule. I find it shocking that this cannot be configured. Please, please allow complications to update more frequently like once per minute, it can actually save a life. I am diabetic who uses insulin.

Thank you,

Nektarios

I have just tested the update rate on my AW Series 9 (Explorer face) using the Sound complication as a test object. The complication updates in real time to reflect ambient sound levels. If I snap my fingers I see the transient sound spike reflect on the complication. This makes me suspect the 15 minute update interval you reported might be programmed into the glucose app and its associated complication.

Summary: This is not an iPhone or Apple Watch default behavior. I suggest you contact the developer of the complication and its parent app on your iPhone, and seek an update which has more frequent updates.

Thank you for this information. It appears that complications specific to Apple update in real-time. However, I've noticed that after installing the Cardiogram and Nightguard apps, they don't seem to update as frequently. These apps provide vital health information for me as a diabetic, yet they only appear to refresh every 15 minutes. Initially, I thought this might be an issue exclusive to the specific apps, but I couldn't find any solution despite extensive searching.

Furthermore, I followed the setup instructions as per this video for the Nightguard app: https://youtu.be/YqUZjXo5VXY?si=tOGufho8RtTN12nn. According to it, the app should update every two minutes. I'm wondering if this behavior is due to a recent update since it does not seem to be the case before.
