Whatsapp notification preview not downloading media and audio on 3D Touch preview

When getting a new WhatsApp message with media outside the app - clicking on preview does not download the image or audio until I open the app(both on WiFi and cellular) - auto download on. App is running on background.

Any idea?

using iOS 17.0.3 on iPhone15

having trouble with whatsapp buisness as the app doesnt even open on my iphone 13 pro having trouble with whatsapp buisness as the app doesnt even open on my iphone 13 pro, i am able to download and after inputting all info the app doesnt open. i have also installed normal WA on my iphone and this works fine
