Waze on bmw heads up display with carplay

I note that CarPlay is an Apple product, so why has Apple decided to only allow Apple Maps to provide directions on heads up displays? Are they wanting us to move to android so we can get the functionality we want???

How to get Navigation on Heads up display from Google Maps on BMW? I just switched to Apple and found out that only Apple Maps shows the step by step direction on the heads up display on my BMW when connected via CarPlay. If I change the navigation app to Google Maps/Waze, the directions no longer show up on the HUD. Is there a way to enable this? I'm using the CarPlay on my iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Maps Satellite view on Carplay Is there any way to activate satellite view on car play? Right now apple maps are much better than it was initially, so I'd like to give it a try with my car. But, currently I'm used to Google maps with satellite view on my carplay. It works great. So, I'd like this option to be available too in apple maps. But it's not 8-( Is this planned? Thank you very much for your help! Luis
