Disappearing pictures text messages

Thanks for choosing the Apple Support Communities. We see pictures in your texts are not appearing.

To start, does this happen on SMS (green messages) iMessage (blue messages) or both? Also, have you tested this on Wi-Fi as well as cellular data?

While we await those answers, try the steps below to see if they help.

1. Quit the messages app and reopen - Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support
2. Restart your iPhone - Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
3. Make sure your software is fully up to date - Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
4. Make sure MMS is turned on in Settings > Messages.
