Sonoma 14.0 Time Machine backup to an old Airport Time Capsule stuck at 10%

Anyone else have an issue with Sonoma 14.0 and the Time Machine backup to an old Airport Time Capsule Ver 7.8.1 sticking at 10%? Suggestions on how to kick it past the block without deleting the backup would be great. It continues to back up nicely to two other HDDs, a 4TB G-Drive and a 1TB Hitachi. Thanks for any suggestions. If a TM will not complete is one sign of a drive working in a state of failure.

If the issues continues and message appear repeatedly —the Time Machine drive is operating in a state of failure.

The resolve would be to replace the drive. The Time Capsule is getting long in the tooth...

Thanks for your advice

Yeah, the TC is a June 2010 model and close to full. My issue has only happened since the update to Sonoma and so I feel it may be something to do with that new software. I must say that the TC has ticked along very nicely since 2010 except for one difficulty in 2014 when trying to backup a new iMac to it. Before I had fully researched the issue I followed Apple Care Support's advice and allowed Time Machine to create a brand new backup. Then I discovered that I could have Inherited or Associated the Time Capsule backups to the new drive with its different UUID as a solution. The system actually backed up for a period but then stopped associating with the new UUID. So unknowingly I allowed the Time Machine to create the new backup and lost all my history. It didn't really matter as I have never had to depend on the TC backup. I shall run First Aid to verify the disc just to check and maybe just start a new backup on it.
