Account recovery process

I’ve tried unsuccessfully to use an old device to reset my Apple ID password. If I start the estimated 2 week process to recover my Apple ID password, will I lose access to both my iPad AND iPhone during this period?

If you start the process to recover your Apple ID password, it typically won't result in an immediate loss of access to your devices. During the recovery process, you may be required to sign out of your Apple ID on the old device you're trying to reset the password on, but your other devices, like your iPad and iPhone, should continue to function as usual.

However, if you encounter any issues or are uncertain about the process, it's a good idea to contact Apple Support or visit an Apple Store for guidance to ensure a smooth recovery without any disruptions to your access. The exact steps and timeline of the recovery process can vary, so getting personalized assistance is often the best course of action.

If you initiate the process, it could be that you lose access to anything you need an Apple ID for. Like factime and iMessage, and the App Store. For things as calling it should be the same, you can also do that without an Apple ID. Most likely you aren't signed in now anyways, otherwise you could use other methods to reset your password (by going to settings>your name>security and password>change password for example)
