How to avoid some application to open when you turn on my computer

I'm using Mac OS Ventura and every time I turn on or restart my MacBook Pro 2019, some applications open together. I did not figure out how to avoid this. I don't know why Apple changed the System Settings interface; it's more confusing than the interface in older OS's. We have to find what we want and it's confusing.

Any help?

And I have also another question: Is it impossible to avoid having to enter the password every time we turn on the computer or when it wakes up from a long sleep? If it is, I don't know how to do that...

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

When you restart or shut down, there is a checkbox to reopen apps that were open when restarted.

You can also have apps set in Login Items.

Some apps have their own settings to open at login.

We all have to embrace the wonderful miniaturized interface created for iPhones.

The search bar works quite well at finding things.

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE 1: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

NOTE 2: if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will insure a successful boot into Safe Mode.
